Once again "A" level results at Ilkley Grammar School have broken all records.
A total of 116 candidates sat the GCE Advanced level examination and they achieved a pass rate of almost 97per cent.
The figure is way above the national average of 89 per cent and is over two per cent higher than last year's result which was at that time a record for the school.
Over 36 per cent of all entries have resulted in the award of Grade A and almost 55 per cent have resulted in Grades A or B. The GNVQ Advanced results were again excellent with all the candidates passing with either Merit or Distinction.
Head teacher Peter Wood commented: "These are phenomenally good results. They surpass our previous best - achieved last year - by a considerable margin and emphasise the high standards being set and achieved consistently by the school. They are the product of a considerable amount of work by students and staff and they mean that almost all our sixth form leavers will be able to take up a place on the Higher Education course of their choice.
"As always the results contain a number of spectacular individual successes, with some students gaining Grade As across four subjects. Equally important are those students for whom more modest achievements represent the reward for a great deal of effort. We congratulate them all and wish them well for the future.
"It's particularly pleasing to be able to launch the new school in September on the platform of these outstanding results. It is our intention to ensure that the high standards they represent will be maintained - and even enhanced - in the new Ilkley Grammar School." Pictured are Ilkley grammar School pupils.
