Have you ever noticed that when you really try to give yourself a good time it seems empty and purposeless? But you can be with people, and maybe it wasn't supposed to be great time - it's hard to put your finger on it - but things just take off, and before you know it you are crossing your legs because you are laughing so much and wondering how much more you can take!
Relationships are at the centre of joy and happiness, this is why the two most important commands "love God" and "love your neighbour" (Mark chapter 12 verses 29-31) are one and the same with the invitation "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (John chapter 10 verse 10). Jesus is both our God and our neighbour. As God we should love him uniquely. As man, as it says in Matthew chapter 25 verse 40, when we love anyone in need we love him.
Answering the call of Jesus to be his disciple, to be a Christian, is the way to the fulfilment of human life. The world shouts - a faster car, a bigger house will make you happy!
But it is a lie. Three words to God can make all the difference. Sorry for my sins. Thank you for forgiving me through Jesus. Please make your home in me by your Holy Spirit.
