Bulls coach Matthew Elliott could face a reprimand from the Rugby Football League after reacting angrily to his side's dramatic defeat at Wigan on Sunday.
Executive director of the RFL Greg McCallum today confirmed he was confronted by Elliott after Kris Radlinski had scored the try in the final seconds which was goaled by Andy Farrell to condemn the Bulls to a 20-19 defeat.
The Bulls coach was furious with referee Russell Smith after he sent Scott Naylor and Stuart Spruce to the sin-bin in the last five minutes as the Warriors effectively ended their hopes of finishing in top spot.
McCallum, a former top class referee in Australia, who was sat near to Elliott in the directors' box in the at the JJB Stadium, said: "I would not say it was an exchange of words because that would suggest that comments were passed in both directions."
He declined to comment further on the incident but it seems Elliott, who was guided away from the scene by Bulls chairman Chris Caisley, is unlikely to have heard the last of the matter.
McCallum will assess the situation today but has backed Mr Smith and left him in charge of Friday's night's potentially explosive clash between top five rivals Leeds and St Helens at Headingley.
"I have no doubt that his decision to penalise the two Bradford players was correct but we have to clear-up with the sin-binnings were warranted."
Meanwhile Sunday's clash with Halifax Blue Sox at the Shay on Sunday will now kick-off at 3.00pm.
It was originally scheduled for 6.00pm but due to redevelopment work there are problems with the floodlights.
Aussie three-quarter Michael Withers is expected to return to the Bulls side after missing the Wigan clash with an abscess on a tooth.
Australia have ignored the World Cup claims of the leading National Rugby League players who have joined the mass exodus to Super League in their 22-man squad which was named yesterday.
