After a delay of just over two years, the building of Bingley's newest middle school at Warren Park, Gilstead, has finally been completed and it will open on Monday, September 8. This means an extra four days holiday for children who have been allocated places there, since other Bingley schools begin the autumn term on September 2.
From the Telegraph & Argus of August 29th, 1950... A recommendation that trolley buses now terminating their journeys at Chapel Lane, near Lady Hill Park, should run through the village of Allerton, was adopted by Bradford Corporation Transport Committee yesterday. The suggestion was made by Coun Louis Cowgill, who for several years has contended that the Chapel Lane terminus has deprived Allerton of a true village bus service.
