A 21-year-old man went on a £2,700 wrecking spree following a row over spilt beer, a court was told.
John Illingworth, of Sandholme Drive, Thorpe Edge, Bradford, was jailed for 10 weeks yesterday after he admitted causing a trail of criminal damage.
Prosecutor Robert Blantern told Bradford magistrates how Illingworth used a table leg to smash two windows in a block of flats in the Eccleshill area of the city. He then attacked a total of seven cars, smashed a bus shelter and some windows at a mill house in Idle.
The incident was sparked off after it was claimed that a man had split beer on Illingworth in an Eccleshill pub.
The court was told that Illingworth then left the premises only to return later to seek revenge over the spilt beer.
In a bid to trace the man, Illingworth along with two women went to a block of flats but when they could not find him, he took his anger out on a couple of windows at the entrance to the building.
The three of them then walked towards Harrogate Road and attacked cars before smashing windows at a mill in Albion Road. After a number of calls were made to the police, Illingworth and the two women were arrested.
Mitigating, Iftikhar Ahmed told the court that Illingworth became angry and frustrated after a man kept shouting abuse at him and his father in a pub.
''He was angry and frustrated. He acted in a manner which he now regrets. He wishes to apologise to the court and has shown genuine remorse to those who were affected by his actions,'' he said.
