The re-organisation of Bradford firm Flender Power Transmission has left it in good shape to expand.
The firm is part of the global firm Flender GmbH, which has carried out a strategic review of its business.
The re-organisation of the engineering company has involved the loss of nine jobs at the firm's Thornbury site which has left Flender with 65 workers.
The firm will be run by joint managing directors Nick Garthwaite and Brian Stewart. Mr Garthwaite was previously sales director and Mr Stewart technical director.
Brian Stewart has spent much of the last two years working on the global introduction of the company's New Motox product from its base in Germany and only recently returned to the UK company on a more permanent basis.
A number of other projects have also reached implementation stage in the last few months, helping the firm look to a brighter future.
Nick Garthwaite said: "Over the last few years we have added the kind of efficiencies that the latest computer systems can provide.
"All our staff have received the appropriate training and we've gone live with a number of new administrative systems that will improve our customer service and further improve our internal efficiency."
The changes are the result of plans which the company has been working on for some time.
He added: "Looking to the future, Flender is remarkably optimistic, taking the view that it has put time and effort into its reorganisation and believing it is now well placed to exploit any upturn in the market."
