Viewers will never have to miss their favourite TV programmes again, thanks to Bradford firm Pace Micro Technology.

The Saltaire-based firm is proving itself to be in the forefront of digital technology by being asked to help develop digital set-top boxes for Sky Digital's new personal television recorder.

The firm, based at Salts Mill, is to work with the NDS Group to develop the equipment which will use a hard disk to record television programmes without using a video recorder.

The recorder will record snatches of TV or whole programmes and, at the touch of a button, record every episode of a series

Malcolm Miller, Pace's chief executive, said: "Sky Digital is continuing to drive the revolution of digital TV in the UK, by launching new interactive services and features.

"With their new personal television recorder, they will create the concept of personalised television in the UK.

"It will provide viewers with new, easy to use features, which they have never had before.

"We are delighted that Sky Digital will be the world's first broadcaster to combine Pace's digital set-top and hard disk technology in partnership with NDS."

Sky's chief executive Tony Ball said: "Sky's integrated Personal Television Recorder is the first truly 21st century home entertainment product."
