From the Telegraph & Argus of September 13, 1975...Check your lights. That is the advice for drivers given at a county road-safety meeting in Leeds. From October 6-19, police will be carrying out a campaign on vehicle lighting, distribuing leaflets advising motorists about lighting regulations at work-places where parking is involved. Police will put warnings on cars.
From the Telegraph & Argus of September 13, 1950...Brian Close, the young Yorkshire and England cricketer, left his Yeadon home today to start his tour of Australia and New Zealand with the MCC. Neighbours flocked round his taxi to wish him good luck. Close's luggage was painted the MCC's blue, red and yellow.
