A man shot in the hip managed to jump in his car and chase his assailants -- only to be shot again.
Shahid Soorti, 32, of St Margaret's Road, Lidget Green, Bradford, said he was petrified when he was shot outside his home.
As he got out of his car, he was hit in the hip with a pellet from an air rifle.
"I went to get some petrol because I heard the rumours that there were going to be shortages and I dropped off my nephew, too.
"I drove back to my house and as I was locking the door I was shot with an air gun," said Mr Soorti, who is unemployed.
"I was in pain but I was angry and I got back into the car and chased the two lads."
He followed them into nearby Kirkburn Place and, when he got out to confront them, was shot again, this time behind the ear.
"It was very, very painful and I was dripping with blood," he said.
"I got back into the car and managed to call the ambulance on my mobile," said Mr Soorti.
He stayed in Bradford Royal Infirmary overnight but says he has not been the same since the incident.
His father, Shabir Soorti, said his son had become withdrawn and depressed since the attack and refused to go out at all.
"He has really changed. He is very depressed and in a lot of pain," said 66-year-old Mr Soorti.
"A few months ago a girl almost lost her eye in a gun attack and we are just grateful that nothing more serious happened.
"It is terrible that these people are allowed to use these weapons.
"I hope they are caught before they hurt someone else."
Inspector Andrew Watson, of Toller Lane Police, said it appeared Mr Soorti had been hit twice by air gun pellets.
"He suffered minor injuries and was treated at Bradford Royal Infirmary," said Insp Watson.
"He did not want to make a statement at the time, but we will be investigating the incident anyway.
"Our inquiries are ongoing and we would like to speak to anyone with information about the incident."
Anyone with information about the attacks, which happened around midnight on Friday, is asked to contact Toller Lane police help desk on Bradford 376259 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
