Obviously we have been pretty deflated in losing to Saints and Bradford - sides who we know we will have to beat if we want to achieve our ultimate goal - but there have been areas in both games that have given cause for some satisfaction. At Odsal, in particular, I was proud of our outstanding defensive effort especially when you consider the amount of quality possession the Bulls had. We made over 300 tackles collectively which speaks
volumes for the character in the side, they are a great bunch of blokes and can be justifiably proud of their efforts.
It was back to something like what we are capable of, aiming for and will have to produce over the coming month. At the other end of the field we carved out two or three great scoring chances which we didn't convert and against the best then you can't afford to do that.
I can hardly wait for the play offs if the last couple of weeks have been a tune up for them and both matches have done us no end of good in our preparations - the tough and
competitive games are what we are all about. We know we are as good as any of the sides in the five, fear none of them and with a few refinements we can do a better job, there is very little difference between us all.
The incentive against the Broncos this week is twofold; first we still need a point to consolidate fourth spot - I don't want to rely on points difference - and secondly having lost three out of our last four games, albeit narrowly, we want to make sure we step up the momentum shown at Bradford.
It is important to us all that the last regular season game is at home and we really want to put on a display and get back to our very best form to show everyone that we deserve to be fourth. The fans have been sensational both at home and on our travels - those who
went to Odsal were magnificent in their support throughout - and I hope that we have repaid their faith and loyalty in some way.
London's season has been a disappointment but because they have a new regime to come in and impress they are unpredictable and therefore dangerous with nothing to lose.
They will be mindful of not wanting to finish bottom of the ladder so there is incentive enough for them tonight. We have to go into the game at a hundred miles an hour, making sure that we do the right thing by ourselves.
We need to be ruthlessly professional, it is vital to go into the semis on the back of a win and we need to up the ante accordingly.
