An 82-year-old woman leading a campaign to bring Bingley Show back to Myrtle Park has already gathered more than 100 signatures supporting the move.
Alice Stocks, of River View, Bingley, is furious the show has been moved to the Bradford & Bingley Sports Club at Wagon Lane, Cottingley.
She refused to go to the new venue and says she will not stop campaigning until show bosses have a change of heart.
They have been placed under further pressure following a survey by Bingley Chamber of Trade which sent questionnaires to more than 100 traders.
More than 90 per cent were in favour of reverting to the original site after trade in the town reportedly plummeted on what is normally one of the busiest days of the year.
Mrs Stocks said: "I thought it was something that needed doing and old people need somewhere to go. They really enjoyed the show, as I did, but not where it is now.
"They told me that the magic had gone and the atmosphere was no longer the same. A lot of the people who have signed the petition are senior citizens who enjoyed going to the park and sitting around at the bowling green afterwards.
"They have had it there for 100 years and the people I have been speaking to feel very strongly about it. They didn't like it as much this year.''
Backing Mrs Stocks is Bingley town centre manager David Dinsey who has asked the show's organisers to rethink their decision to move the show because of concerns about access to Myrtle Park. "I believe the majority of folk would like to see this major event back in its original home," he said.
Bingley Show vice-chairman Jim Hinchliffe said he had not yet seen the petition so was unable to comment on it.
He said: "It will have to be discussed, along with the survey from the Chamber of Trade, at our finance meeting next week.
"The next day we will have a meeting with the Bradford & Bingley Sports Club and following that there will be a meeting of the full council which will decide which way to go.''
