AFTER looking set for another classy victory Keighley saw valuable points slip from their grasp last weekend.
Once again Justin Ferguson showed his ability with a fighting knock of 35 and was backed up by Stuart Ratclife's 46 later in the innings as they set Bowling Old Lane a target of 177-9.
Ross Towler opened in sparkling form and had both openers back inthe pavilion with just 15 runs on the board, but Iqbal and Lane's overseas star Mohammed Shafiq took the game to the Keighley side.
Iqbal scored 30 while Shafiq raced to 95 not ut as they collected a seven-wicket victory.
Keighley 2nds succumbed to defeat against Bowling Old Lane last week in a tense finish which was lost by only 7 runs.
Old Lane batted first and made slow progress to 30 for 4. A stubborn partnership of 55 for the fifth wicket frustrated Keighley but the home side could never break free thanks to tight bowling. The home side continued the stubborn resistance and finished on 134 for 9. Ali took 3 wickets with Ratcliffe, Towler and Robinson each taking two a piece.
Keighley raced away and made light work of the early bowling reaching 42 for 2, but all of the top five batsmen gave their wickets away and Keighley were in trouble at 94 for 8. Still requiring 41 to win the odds were against Keighley but Andrew Coppen steadied the ship and played a very mature 31. He shared in a partnership of 26 with Smith which gave Keighley hope of a gutsy win but Keighley fell just short on 128 all out, Hussain took 8 wickets for BOL.
Saturday's game marks the end of the season for Keighley when they host Great Horton.
