A woman has made a desperate appeal to her father to visit the granddaughter he has never met.

Ricola Redmonds, of Little Horton, Bradford, is searching for her father, Barry Redmonds.

She has not seen him for five years since a family dispute flared up.

But now Ricola says that she needs to have her father in her life again and wants her daughter to know her granddad.

She said: "I've got no idea where he is. I just really want to see him again.

I can't understand why he didn't want to stay in touch. Whatever the problem was we can sort it out.

"I've realised that even though I'm getting on with other things in my life I feel like I have a gap where my dad should be. I love him to bits.

"He doesn't know he's got a four-year-old granddaughter called Aaliyah and I'd love him to meet her.

"Even though I'm 20 I still feel like I need my dad. I was always a daddy's girl."

Barry Redmonds, was the former owner of the World of Sooty, in Leeds Road, Shipley, which briefly became Furever Feline.

The building was later sold to a marketing company.

Ricola, pictured with her daughter, said she last heard that her father may be living in the Brighouse area.

She has tried to trace him through electoral registers but has turned up no clues to his whereabouts.

Ricola also believes that her father may have taken Furever Feline to the seaside resort of Hornsea for a summer season after it left Shipley.
