Bradford Union team-mates Ian Martin and Andy Dufton are both in the running for a rare matchplay double.
They will be bidding for the amateur matchplay title at Keighley on Sunday and two weeks later trying for the foursomes title at the same venue.
Martin, from Baildon, starts with a tough semi-final against Silsden's Alasdair Clarke, winner of the trophy five years ago. At the same time Dufton, from Woodhall Hills, takes on Bingley St Ives' Richard Wheatley.
No one has taken both the individual and foursomes matchplay titles for 20 years - since Northcliffe's Alan Rennie in 1980. And it would certainly add an extra edge to the individual final should Martin and Dufton win through to an afternoon shoot-out.
Martin admits he is surprised to find himself in the running for both trophies at this stage of the season.
He has been working in the professional's shop at the Marriott Hollins Hall course and as a result has not been able to play as much golf as he would have liked.
"We have been very, very busy here at Hollins Hall and I am responsible for most of the corporate days, which keeps me very occupied," he said.
"My golf has suffered a little as a result, yet somehow I've made it through to the semi-finals of both competitions."
Dufton has been in good form this year in strokeplay, winning the re-scheduled 36-holes title at Northcliffe by a comprehensive five-stroke margin last month.
On Sunday, October 8 Martin teams up with Tom Gooding for a semi-final against Shipley's Paul Crosby and Trevor Wright in his challenge for the inter-club foursomes matchplay title.
And Dufton partners Bradford Grammar School boy Richard Oddy, who has been playing for the Halifax-Huddersfield Union team this year, against St Ives' Andy Brown and Martin Parnaby.
