Bradford's Bobby Vanzie must defend his British and Common-wealth lightweight titles against the unbeaten Steve Murray.
The British Boxing Board have ordered him to make a mandatory defence against the Harlow boxer who has won 11 of his 13 fights inside the distance and attracted rave reviews.
The clash is scheduled for November. No venue will be finalised until after purse offers close on October 6.
It promises to be the biggest pay-day of Vanzie's career and certainly one of his toughest assignments.
He said: "I won the British title in my 13th professional fight, but I haven't had the recognition that Murray has had for his 13 fights so far.
"He is obviously a fighter with a big punch and is a dangerous opponent, but he won't have come up against anybody with a style as awkward as mine.
"Murray hasn't been tested by anybody to date. I am looking forward to the contest because I want to show what I can do.
"I am fed up with the criticism of my most recent performances, but I will be up for this one. People say I have been lazy but Murray is one fighter I cannot afford to be lazy against."
