A BURGLAR carried a replica gun during a break-in in Otley.
Two men entered a house in Cross Green through a first floor window and took various items before being disturbed.
They fled through the front door and were chased by witnesses along Cross Green, with various items of property, including the keys to a Vauxhall Astra, abandoned during the chase.
A jacket worn by one of the suspects was also discarded, and this contained a replica firearm in one pocket.
The thieves successfully made off with items of jewellery.
Police say they are looking for two people. The first is a white male, short brown hair, slim build, a thin face with high cheek bones and wearing a blue jacket with a light purple top underneath and fawn trousers.
The second suspect is a white male, 5ft 8in tall, short blond hair with side parting, wearing a red kagool, blue jeans and light-coloured trainers.
The incident happened between 12.55pm and 2pm on September 11. Police at Weetwood, who are currently examining forensic evidence, are appealing for witnesses.
