Bradford's Yorkshire Forward representative Adeeba Malik was behind today's meeting of the Government's new Ethnic Minority Business Forum - held outside London for the first time.
The event, which will feature Yorkshire Forward chairman Graham Hall, was to be held at Leeds University and involve nearly 20 of the region's ethnic minority business leaders. Mr Hall was expected to tell the Department of Trade and Industry Forum that being inclusive was vital to the region's economic strategy.
He said: "Yorkshire Forward believes this approach will ensure the strategy meets the needs of business.
"However we recognise that where good practice is developed and shared among the business support network it has to be genuinely accessible and available to all business people." Adeeba Malik said: "I am delighted we have been able to host the Forum, it is important the Forum gets out to meet people from the minority ethnic business communities."
