Young hockey players with their sights set on the Olympic Games in 2020 need look no further than their local club for a start in the game.
Ben Rhydding Hockey Club 'Colts', as the juniors are called, are regarded as one of the best junior clubs in the county.
Many boys represent the county and NE England and Andrew Parkes recently played for the England Under-15s.
The club on Coutances Way is inviting 10 and 11-year-old boys (years six and seven) to join them. Simply go down to the club on Sunday, October 1, for a morning of fun and coaching, from 10.00am to noon, under the supervision of experienced hockey coaches.
There will be no charge and youngsters are asked to take along trainers (not boots), gum-shields and shin-guards.
l There is no need to book a place but if you have any queries ring Norman Borrett on 01943 431531.
