Jean McIntyre and her husband Stanley, of Crossflatts, went to the 'Eagles Nest' for their entry into our incredible Where-in-the-World challenge.
The 'nest' is of course Adolf Hitler's birthday retreat at Berchtesgaden in Bavaria.
Jean says access to the house which was given to Hitler by the German people to celebrate his 50th birthday is hair-raising.
"It is by way of a drive in a mini-bus about three miles up a steep winding road, incredibly built by workmen in only 13 months.
"One then walks along a 40-yard tunnel inside the mountain and into a 30s style lift up a further 40 yards into the house itself.
"The views in every direction are magnificent and one can well imagine Hitler's feelings of superiority in such an elevated and secure situation."
