Proof - if it were needed - that the Keighley News is a gripping read!

Andrew Hodgson, from Raynham Crescent, Keighley, got into a tight squeeze in Thailand with his favourite read during his recent summer holiday with wife Margaret.

The 49-year-old, who works at Sun Street Printers in Keighley, made the trunk call at the Nong Nooch wildlife park.

With the help of elephant handlers called Mahoots, Andrew was able to hang around while Margaret took the unusual holiday snap.

He says: "We went to Thailand last year to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary and took a copy of the Keighley News, but I forgot to take it out of my bag.

"When we saw the elephants picking people up we thought it would make a good photo for Where in the World? It's certainly one for the family album.

"We were a bit wary because a tourist had been gored and killed by an elephant at the same park about three weeks before we visited, but after that happened they erected security fencing.

"We had a superb time touring around Thailand and we will definitely be going back in the future."

During their holiday the couple visited Bankok and the popular holiday destination of Phuket.
