Caring bookworms from the 10th Keighley New Church Rainbow unit are helping young people overseas.
Five members -- Zoe Winpenny, Rosanna Ridgway, Lucy Jennings, Emma Eden and Heather Nolan -- are donating books to needy children.
The venture is part of a Guide Association millennium project to think of others, and the goods are being sent overseas via Book Aid International and Rotary.
The girls have learned about life in another country and the importance of being able to read and write. They have also had a nursery rhyme night when they sang their favourite songs and made visual displays. Each received a badge to wear on their uniforms.
The Rainbows also joined with the Brownies and Guides to help Keighley New Church collect dried food for Euro-Aid, at the harvest festival celebrations on Sunday.
* The 10th Keighley New Church Brownie pack is seeking a new leader.
The plea follows the departure for family reasons of the Brown Owl. The unit is being run temporarily by the Rainbow and Guide leaders.
