PETROL shortages caused some matches to be postponed last weekend leaving a few late league matches still to be played.
The Valley End of Season Doubles takes place on Sunday at Steeton with a 9.30 start.
Almost all the final positions in the Valley League are decided with Cross Roads A Division One champions again in an event sponsored by R McDowell Ltd. Crow Wood Park and Devon are still chasing for the runners-up spot with Oakworth A and Lund Park a both relegated.
Whins A are Division Two champions well ahead of Denholme A and Cross Hills A. Whins B and Lund B go down. The league is sponsored by Newholme Manor.
Craven B are Division Three champions with Lund C pipping Silsden PFB on the number of winners rule after finishing level on points. Phoenix Trophies are sponsors of the division in which Lund D came bottom.
Handicap sections in each league have been won by Craven A, Lund D and Craven B respectively.
Denholme a were again Doubles League winners and they also won the extended end of season event.
Gary Foster's brave efforts in the Waterloo Cup ended in Round Seven at Blackpool with a 9-21 defeat at the hands of the eventual winner, Carl Armitage of Warrington.
Cross Hills' brave efforts in the Wood Cup came to an end in the finals in the Aire-Wharfe area. After two narrow victories they were well beaten by the favourites Mytholmroyd WMC.
