Alex Howarth - Steeton
Steeton will be looking back on the season asking 'if only' -- after missing out on retaining their championship by the most slender of margins.
They finished level at the top with champions Guiseley, but lost out on the number of matches won.
Both clubs picked up 91 points, but Steeton had won just 10 games against Guiseley's eight.
Problems came early in the season when they won only one of their opening nine games, but the finished with a rampaging performance which had the leaders quaking in their boots.
The final day victory over Skipton saw Mark Wilson score a century as they set a target of 174-9 before Guy Saxton saved his best till last by taking eight wickets for 30 runs.
Silsden are relegated after winning only one game, but will be looking to bounce straight back into the top flight next season. Chris Meehand top scored with 47, but North Leeds secured a three wicket victory on the final day.
Steeton 2nds were also relegated while Silsden 2nds finished mid-table in the B division, finishing with a winning draw at third placed Ilkley.
Hugh Sugden (20) and Ian Pullen (22) top scored for Silsden.
