Shipley's very own dancing queen is hoping to strike lucky with her 13th Day of Dance.

Louise Eaton's 12 previous Day of Dance events have generated tens of thousands of pounds for various charities and she is hoping the next will raise thousands more for Oxfam and Yorkshire CND.

The fundraiser on Saturday, October 21, kicks off with a programme of 42 dance, music and song workshops offering people the chance to try everything from medieval dancing to hip-hop and jungle.

The programme of workshops, to be run at various venues throughout Shipley, includes classes specially aimed at children with other styles that can be sampled including Indian classical, Argentinean tango, border morris and salsa.

Non-dance workshops include yoga, tai chi, songwriting, juggling and drumming.

The workshops will be followed by a family ceilidh with music from the Polka Dots at Victoria Hall, Saltaire, at 5pm.

And from 8pm the same venue will see performances by street band Ragnarok and drum/world music group Akimbo. For details ring Mrs Eaton on (01274) 775161.
