Mark Holden and Tim Charlton led a Keighley trio to victory in the Yorkshire Schools Hill climb Championships.
The event was hosted and promoted by Oakbank Sports College with riders completing two rides up the school drive from the bottom gate on Ingrow Lane to the top of the drive. The hill climb also incorporated the Under-15 and Under19 Keighley Schools Championship.
Mark Holden of Oakbank was third overall and second Under-15 in the county event and first Keighley rider. Tim Charlton, also of Oakbank, won the KeighleyOver-15 section and was second overall.
Ralph Connolly from Holy Family School won the Yorkshire Under-12 title.
The British Cyclo-Cross Association held their first race of the season on the school's playing fields, organised by Peter Charlton. Races were held for Youths, Under-12s, juniors, seniors, ladies and vets with the main event being won by Matthew Buckingham.
The British Schools Cycling Association's Yorkshire Cyclo-cross Championships take place at Holy Family School on Saturday, November 18. Pre-entry is essential with details and entry forms available from Pat Connolly, 43 Devonshire Street West, Keighley. Tel: 1535-671008.
