Motorcycle scrambles are to be banned in Danefield Woods and on the Deerpark on Otley Chevin. The decision was taken by Otley Council after a letter from Major Horton-Fawkes, of Farnley Hall, who gave this part of the Chevin to the town as an open space. "The idea," said the major, "is to seek refuge from traffic, not encourage it."
