East Bowling Unity and Oakenshaw crashed out of the national FA Sunday Cup in the first round.
Oakenshaw lost 2-0 at Liverpool club Sandon while Unity lost 2-1 at Bridlington against Northwood after taking the lead.
After dominating the first half with Jamie Buchan and Steve Blackett running the midfield, Unity should have had more than a Paul Viner goal for their efforts. The Hull side levelled with a 65th minute penalty and won the game with a late goal.
Oakenshaw had a good first half at Edinburgh Park, but a well-taken free kick put Sandon in front and, though they created chances, Oakenshaw went out after a late second goal.
In the first round group game of the FA Umbro Veterans' Cup Whetley Lane won 3-0 against Eccleshill United, courtesy of two goals by Colin Dunn and one from debutant Steve Roper with a well-taken free kick. Striker Nicky Adamson and midfielder Ian Gill played well.
In a day of exceptional performances from Alliance clubs in the first round of the West Riding County Cup, St Pat's from Division 1B stunned Premier Division Craven Heifer with a 2-1 win. With goalkeeper Paul Kiss making a good debut for Heifer, Peter Dunk equalised and young Gareth Carney hit the winner from 25 yards.
In the other all-Alliance clash, Woodman Rovers gave a creditable performance against Division One high flyers Fairweather Green. Unlucky to fall behind to an Adie Howard goal, Woodman were still in the game until Dean Gascoigne, who had missed two earlier chances, struck a late solo goal.
Concentrating hard in defence and striking on the break proved good tactics for Queens Athletic at Leeds side Swinnow Hotel. Martin Kemp tore Swinnow apart with a hat-trick as the unbeaten Division 1B leaders produced a superb 5-1 win.
Father and son Brian and Chris Cookson were on target as Eccleshill United ended a poor run by beating former finalists Woodlesford 3-0.
Two headers from set plays by Darren Holmes gave Queensbury a 2-0 win at Sol United, while Hudsons won 4-0 at Acorn Bramley.
Below-par Bradford Moor scraped through 3-2 against Wakefield club Sporting British Oak, Wes Serrant scoring twice, while Trevor Payne's late equaliser at Scholes Athletic earned Victoria Rangers a replay.
After leading twice Hare and Hounds lost 4-3 to Harrogate side Sherwood Station, who are unbeaten in two seasons.
Two penalties from player-manager Tommy Lawlor proved crucial in unbeaten West Bowling's 4-3 win over Halifax side Siddal, while, after a goalless first half at Halifax's Lee Mount, leading scoring Dave Dickenson netted twice in Quarry's impressive 5-2 win.
Bolton were hit with a quick five-goal blast by Huddersfield visitors GNG Sikh Temple, who survived a late Bolton rally to win 6-3.
Visitors St John Fisher OB never recovered from East Ward's four goals in the first half. Two-goal youngster Brian Carr played well in a 7-2 victory.
