Eastwood...0 Guiseley...1
GUISELEY continued their Jekyll and Hyde season picking up all three points in Nottinghamshire on Tuesday night.
Guiseley had the biggest share of possession and on 30 minutes Matt Daly's header was somehow pushed away by the 'keeper.
Tony Agana did a lovely back heel but David Cook was offside. Paul Burke then got the ball back but his cross was punched away.
In the second-half, Des Hazel won possession and his pass found Cooke, who played the ball on to Burke, who took 17 on and shot past the 'keeper.
Burke had two further shots-one saved and one wide-Andy Williams also had an effort saved. Nigel Muttich in the Guiseley goal made two good saves to keep a clean sheet.
On Friday night, Guiseley travel to North Ferriby for a league match.
The reserves drew 3-3 with Burscough with goals from Steven Daykin (2) and Andy Butler.
Guiseley...0 Gretna .. 0
A LACK-LUSTRE display by Guiseley saw them drop points at home to Border side Gretna on Saturday.
There is no questioning the ability of the players but there appears to be a little wholehearted effort missing and with Guiseley already out of the FA Cup things have hit a bit of a slump.
Nothing a string of good wins and a run in the FA Trophy won't improve on Saturday.
Manager Bobby Davison was once again hit by injuries and absentees.
He had none of his regular left side players available with Hogarth, Gallagher, Stead and Shuttleworth all injuried.
A League debut was handed to 20-year-old reserve team winger Phil Atkinson. The youngster was not really given enough of the ball to show his paces but he produced some nice touches.
Davison himself took the number nine shirt to partner former Rotherham and Sheffield United striker Paul Burke.
Davison created a number of chances in the first-half, being just wide with a header, forcing a save out of Lee Copeland and then volleying a superb effort just over.
Andy Williams saw his free-kick headed back to David Cooke but he wasted his chance.
For Gretna David Mawson fired over when Guiseley were exposed at the back.
In the second-half Cooke again wasted a chance when he headed straight at the 'keeper but by and large there was little to get excited about.
