A sponsored ten-pin bowling event at the AMF Bowl raised over £800 for Keighley's special Olympians.
While much of the country's attention has been focused on Sydney, the slightly less glamorous location of Cardiff, the venue of next year's Special Olympics, is on the minds of these talented and dedicated sportsmen.
The 30 bowlers, members of the Bradford Sports and Recreation Association for People with Disabilities (BSRAPD) ten-pin bowling team, took over a number of lanes to help raise money to send athletes to next year's championships.
A total of £830 was raised, £700 through sponsorship and £130 through a raffle and donations.
BSRAPD's Margaret Burton says: "The total is over and above what we expected.
"Well done to everybody involved and especially to all those who sponsored the bowlers and to AMF for donating the free games," she adds.
