Stanbury had to fight all the way to secure victory over Royal Hotel in the Premier Division.
Craig Labbett gave them the lead five minutes into the game but Royal, who are still trying to find some form this season, hit back after Carl Garge beat the off-side trap and rounded the keeper. They took the lead when Nick Fawell blasted home from the half way line to secure a half time lead.
A well struck free kick from Dave Bainbridge put Stanbury back on level terms. A Royal began to feel the pressure Mick Thompson grabbed a late winner.
Victoria 200 had to come from behind to secure a 5-5 draw with Boltmakers. They slipped 3-1 down in the first half, but fought back to produce a grandstand finish. Victoria's scorers were Darren Holmes, Rob Dunn, Colin Webb and an own goal. Boltmakers scorers were not available.
Steve Cooke hammered in six goals as Victoria Hotel went on the rampage to secure a 20-1 victory over Regent Victoria. Regent were trailing 6-1 by the break, but kept fighting despite letting in 14 goals in the second period. Tony Cooper followed his strike partner, scoring five goals, and they were backed up by Steve Bradshaw (3), Chris Fothergill (2), Russell Brown (2), Sean Wilkinson and Paul Riddiough.
Bay Horse turned on the style in the second half to run away with a 5-0 victory over Broadford Plant in the first round of the New Bridge Sunday Cup. They were just 1-0 up at the break, but then stepped on the gas. Their scorers were Andy Thornton (2), Chris Pugh, Michael Aaron and Ian Capper, leaving Plant a tough task in the second leg.
Baildon New Inn also turned up the heat in the second half to secure their 8-3 win over JPL Victoria. The first half was evenly contested until two JPLK players were sent off for bad tackles, both bringing penalties for New Inn. A third spot kick sank JPL as they struggled with nine men. Ben Feltwell scored a hat-trick of penalties and other goals came from John Brear (2), Johnny Barbour, Dave Ellershaw and Steve Driver.
New Inn Windhill and Woodend Rovers fought out an even contest until the referee had to stop the game for 20 minutes when a Woodend player was taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg. When the ambulance left it was Woodend who went on to score freely securing a 6-2 victory. New Inn's scorers were Richard Scanlan and Danny Sanders.
Oddfellows 200 are still looking for their first win, but they came very close before going down 3-2 to malt Shovel, and they have a real chance in the second leg if they continue to improve. Dennis Asquith and James Hayley scored for Oddfellows with Dave Gattenby jnr, Chazad Ali and Paul Slimming netting for Malt who also had their keeper to thank for several fine saves.
