From the Telegraph & Argus of October 9, 1975...History was made at the Horse of the Year Show by two West Yorkshire police horses. Dalesman, ridden by PC David Dracup - a familiar sight patrolling Bradford streets - won Police Horse of the Year title. And Dalesman and gelding Justice won the Police Horse of the Year pairs competition.
From the Telegraph & Argus of October 9, 1950...Odsal captain Ron Clarke won the Peter Casson 100 guineas trophy in an individual championship for Odsal and Halifax riders at Odsal Stadium, Bradford. There were 10,827 spectators. At the end of 20 heats, Clarke and his team
colleague Jack Biggs, were level with 14 points each, and an extra race had to be run as a play-off.
