From the Telegraph & Argus of October 19, 1975... Residents of Bolton Hall Road, Bradford, are angry after a lorry skidded on mud in the road and demolished a lamp standard yesterday afternoon. The lorry is believed to have come from the Bolton Woods Quarries.
From the Telegraph & Argus of October 10th, 1950... Housewives in Cliffe Mount, Bolton Road, Bradford, are fighting an incessant battle against black grit which invades their homes every time the wind is in the south-west. They believe the grit comes from the Valley Road electricity power station chimney - the tallest in Bradford. Mrs Vera Wright of 650, Bolton Road, demonstrated the grit on window sills in the back-yard. "Sometimes I sweep this yard three times a day," she said.
