THE President of the Ilkley Moor Lions Club, John Hopwood and secretary, Jim Shelton, visited Clevedon House Preparatory School.
As part of an international effort at raising awareness among young people, the Lions have sponsored a poster competition on the theme 'United in Peace."
Art teacher Michele Raisin said: "This is a competition we really wanted to be part of with its important message for young people everywhere."
In a short presentation to the school about the work of Ilkley Moor Lions fundraising on behalf of disabled people, Mr Shelton told the children how the Lions were sponsoring two local learning disabled people at the Olympics in Cardiff later this year.
Mr Hopwood then presented a framed certificate and an award to pupil Zoe Kelly, who won first prize in her age group of the Wharfedale section of the competition. Thanks to her success, the school also received a certificate and an award which was gratefully acknowledged by the head teacher, the Rev Alex Munro.
