Easter came early to the Worth Valley as hundreds of schoolchildren gave chase to a giant rabbit. Pupils from six schools took part in the bunny run this week at Haworth Primary School. Most of the 320 youngsters came from Haworth, Stanbury, Oxenhope, Nessfield and Lees primary schools.
But a group travelled from West Street School, Colne, where one of the Haworth teachers used to work. Inside the bunny suit was the husband of Haworth PE co-ordinator Sue Roberts, Martin, a Keighley firefighter and keen athlete. Every child who took part received a chocolate egg and certificate.
Winners: nursery, Ella Roberts, Joshua Ferguson; reception, Francesca Gee, Billy Metcalfe; year one, Jessica Wisema, Ryan Taylor; two, Samara Kelly, Tom Marshall; three, Danielle Cox, Sam Marshall; four, Emma Thompson, Luke Taylor; five, Leanne Dixon, Charlie Eccleston; six, Rachel Holdsworth, Ross Chapman.
