A Keighley detective has been commended for his part in helping to solve a 22-year-old murder case.
Det Con Nigel Spencer was part of the team which investigated the killing of Shipley mother Mary Gregson.
He and five colleagues on Wednesday received assistant chief constable merit awards.
The availability of new DNA techniques had led police to reopen investigations into the case.
And their efforts helped uncover evidence which led to the arrest and subsequent conviction at Sheffield Crown Court last September of Ian Richard Lowther.
Senior investigating officer Det Chief Supt Brian Taylor said the team had faced a daunting task but never lost its enthusiasm.
He added: "Through their sheer hard work and determination they found the man responsible, and he is now serving a life sentence for murder."
