CRUSADERS junior teams travelled to Gloucester and Swansea last weekend.
The Under-13's beat a big Cirencester team 33-12 with the Keighley backs particularly impressive, the forwards also showed lots of aggression and tenacity to secure quick ball. Tries were scored by Mathew Dobson, Nathan Berry and Matthew Langstaff (3) with Scott Dyson converting four of the five tries.
After Saturday's game at Kingsholme they watched the Leicester v Gloucester match and met their heroes, including Martin Johnson, when they were guests in the players' bar after the game.
Parents who accompanied the boys on tour also made history by beating the Gloucester Shed Supporters tug-o-war team 2-0.
The Under-12s played a full 15-a-side game for the first time against a powerful Cirencester team and slipped to a 27-7 defeat.
The match was refereed by Gloucester and New Zealand All Black stan-off Simon Mannix and the Keighley squad refused to let their heads drop despite the strength of the home team.
Other age groups enjoyed a tour to south wales where they took on teams from Swansea.
