MIDLAND staked their claim for runners-up spot with a 7-2 victory over Stockbridge on Sunday.
Despite the emphatic scoreline it was not until they scored their fifth goal that they took complete control. Stockbridge opened the scoring only for the home team to hit back with two goals to give them a 2-1 lead at the break.
The second half saw Midland score five with just one in reply, their marksmen were Andy Nelson (4), Adrian Snowden (2) and Gavin Hammond.
The game between Shoulder of Mutton and Royal Oak looked to be a home 'banker' and although they eventually secured the win it was by no means an easy task. While Shoulder were the better side they were made to work hard for their 2-0 victory.
Bocing found the net seven times in the first half in their clash with the youthful Brown Cow team. They eased up in the second period, adding two without reply. Darren Midgley and David Nelson scored hat-tricks with Craig Stevens and Michael Shaw also on target.
Cottingley went down to an early goal from Silsden Athletic but fought back with four goals before the break. The hosts also added the only goal of the second period, scorers were K Halliday, Lee Watson, K Murgatroyd and J Carney.
