Keighley light middleweight, Paul Doust followed up his impressive victory on the recent Keighley ABC-Keighley Lions show, with another notable conquest at Bradford's Ukrainian Club.

Doust outpointed Dewsbury and Batley ABC's Tyrone McEnnery who himself had been a first round stoppage winner at Keighley.

In a hard fierce contest, Doust gave his potentially dangerous opponent little time to settle as he scored with some accurate shots to both head and body in the first two rounds to build up a commanding lead.

And, although the Dewsbury boxer came on strongly in the third, Doust continued to land some telling counters that helped to keep him ahead at the final bell.

Meanwhile, not quite so fortunate was the Keighley Club's Yorkshire and Humberside Schools finalist, Matthew Booth. There was some considerable crowd disapproval as Booth was adjudged to have lost on points to John Moody from Manchester's Ashton Albion ABC.

The Manchester boxer threw punches galore amid a whirlwind opening round. But very few of them reached the target and Booth tucked in smartly.

The, having weathered the early storm, the Keighley boxer opened up and boxed his hitherto aggressive opponent on to the back-foot, indeed to such an extent in the third round that the Mancunian was repeatedly forced to hold on and also received an eight-count.

One judge scored it for Booth, but the other two gave cause for bewilderment, as the Keighley boxer - endorsed by the crowd - appeared to have won with room to spare.
