FOURTEEN-year-old Alistair Houldsworth is set to play his first county match after being selected for Yorkshire Under-16 boys.
The team will take on a NE Counties team at Knotty Hill Golf Club in Sedgefield, County Durham next week.
The Oakbank School pupil, who is a member of Keighley and Bingley St Ives golf clubs plays of a handicap of nine. He earned his call-up to the county team despite just having his appendix removed.
Alistair is a former winner of the Keighley News/Taywood Homes young sports personality award and is tipped for great things in the world of golf.
He has also been awarded a Sports Aid grant to help continue his sporting development.
