Roadworks have been under way during the past few weeks at the junction of Church Bank and Forster Square to prepare for the introduction of the first bus priority scheme in Bradford. The bus lane, which will become operational from Monday, will consist of a reserved area of carriageway marked by a wide continuous white line extending from East Parade to a point near the junction with Forster Square.

Bradford, leader in many of the country's educational advents, initiates a new idea in education this month when 30 boys of Drummond Road Secondary School leave on a 16-day coach tour of places visited by J.B. Priestley when preparing his book English Journey. The trip will take in Nottingham, Oxford, and Winchester.
