The 'thoughtful' construction of Bradford's new Asda superstore has won an industry 'gold' award.
Laing Ltd has picked up a Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) award for the good practice it demonstrated while building the Rooley Lane store.
To take part the firm signed up to a Code of Considerate Practice, which committed them to be considerate, good neighbours, clean, tidy, safe, environmentally conscious, responsible and accountable.
The Construction Confederation, which launched the awards in 1997, praised Laing for minimising traffic flow problems on the nearby dual carriage and keeping local residents well informed.
The company also provided new landscaping, plants and trees in the back gardens of houses near to the Asda site.
