Calder Valley Rams...............30
Guiseley Rangers.....................0
Although Calder Valley are only one place above Guiseley Rangers in the league table, they had no problems in seeing off a very lack lustre Rangers, who produced their worst display of a very disappointing season.
The home team soon took control, and were well worth their 24-0 half-time lead. Rangers did improve their defence in the second-half and restricted the opposition to just one additional converted try, but the final whistle was a welcome relief to players and spectators alike. With just three league games remaining, the club are looking forward to re-grouping in the summer ready for a new season in a lower division of the Pennine League.
There is no fixture this Easter weekend.
Last Sunday, the Under-11s entertained Deighton from Huddersfield in a thrilling encounter, which the visitors won 32-10. The score does not reflect how well the Rangers played, especially in the second- half. Some good running rugby brought tries for Shannon Horne and Robert Butterfield, with a James Bottomley conversion completing the home scoring. There are no junior fixtures this Easter weekend.
The junior presentation evening is on Friday April 20, and is a ticket only event. Tickets are available from the club secretary Dave Clayton.
