Business leaders from around the region have banded together to give voluntary campaigns a hand.
The Business in the Community regional leadership team is made up of representatives from a range of groups including literacy project Right to Read, Leeds Cares, and Diversity.
The team will include the executive chairman of the Kelda Group Plc, John Napier. Staff from Kelda owned Yorkshire Water, which has its headquarters in Bradford, have been heavily involved in the Right to Read scheme.
Team chairman Richard Gregory, deputy chairman of Yorkshire Forward and managing director of Yorkshire Television, said: "The efforts of hundreds of companies in the region are already making a real difference in so many ways in our communities."
