A Bingley sports club whose fortunes were kicked into touch by last autumn's floods is set to see them re-floated with the official unveiling of its new clubhouse.
Bradford & Bingley Rugby Club has been without its clubhouse facilities since the end of last October when the nearby River Aire burst its banks, leaving fixtures and fittings submerged and one of its bars under four feet of water.
But now, five months on, following a massive refurbishment programme worth more than £200,000, the club - which has a 1,125-strong membership - is planning to celebrate its official re-opening this weekend.
The new-look clubhouse off Wagon Lane includes a banqueting suite and dance floor, in-house catering facilities, seminar and meeting rooms, three bars - including the Bees Sporting Suite featuring a collection of sporting memorabilia - and changing facilities. Its indoor nets and weight rooms, housed in a separate building, have also been fully refurbished.
The new clubhouse will be open to the public from 12.30pm on Saturday ahead of the club's match against Blaydon at 3pm.
And on Sunday the club is inviting people to look round its new-look facilities during an open day between 12.30pm and 4.30pm.
