A Bradford bus passenger was hit on the back of her head when a brick was hurled through a window.
And 61-year-old Jennifer Wager was so shaken, she is too scared to travel on the route anymore.
She was travelling home after visiting her daughters in Girlington when a group of boys threw missiles at the bus.
Mrs Wager, who had seen boys throwing stones at the bus before, wasn't prepared for what happened.
"They were sitting on a wall," she said. "I saw them jump down with bricks in their hands. They do it every week but they've never broken a window.
"Then the window just shattered all over me. The brick hit me on the back of the head and I just went into shock."
Three other passengers on the bus came to Mrs Wager's help and she was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary. She suffered bruising to her head and minor cuts to her hand.
She realises she had a lucky escape and is still in shock.
"I've had to get some pills from the doctor for my nerves. I can't sleep at night," she said.
"I could have been killed if I hadn't turned my head round, or at the very least it would have broken my jaw. If the brick had hit the bus driver it could have caused a crash and been much more serious."
The incident happened on Tuesday night at 7.20pm along Toller Lane, near its junction with Abingdon Street.
Mrs Wager, who lives in Buttershaw, says she is too scared to use that bus anymore.
"I've had to tell my daughters I won't be going to see them any more. I usually go over once a week but I daren't go now," she said.
Bradford North Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack. The suspects are described as three or four Asian males, slim, aged 12 to 14, and wearing dark clothing.
PC Paul Evans, of Bradford North Police, said they were treating the incident very seriously.
"This was a mindless act of damage which could have had more serious consequences," he said. "This woman was lucky her injuries were not more serious or that a major accident was not caused.
"Young people need to be reminded that this kind of reckless behaviour can injure innocent people who are wanting to travel to work or home in safety."
