JOHN TAYLOR won the first 'Urban Bunny Run' with an impressive performance in Cliffe Castle grounds last week.
Taylor (above) beat clubmate Ian Holmes by 13 seconds over the three mile course.
Organisers Dave and Eileen Woodhead moved the run to the Keighley park to beat a ban on fell running caused by the Foot & Mouth crisis. "We wanted the runs to go ahead and the park was the only suitable area available. It proved very popular with 180 runners taking part," Dave said.
Pauline Munro, also a member of the Bingley club won the ladies prize in 21mins 46secs. Steve Oldfield of Bradford/Airedale clocked up his 13th Bunny Run title finishing in sixth place to take the Over-40 vets award.
Bingley won the team prized with a clean sweep of the top four places, Siggy Gould and Robert Jebb chasing home the top two. Holmfirth were second team and Bingley B third.
Bingley also won the ladies team prize followed by Holmfirth and Keighley & Craven.
Keighley runners also helped Bingley to third place in the North of England 12-stage Road Relay held in Leeds at the weekend. the team included Mick Hawkins, JohnTaylor, Colin Moore, Stevie Green, Robert Jebb, John Cordingley and John Convrey.
Ian Holmes ran the final leg to lift the team into bronze medal position.
The Bingley ladies team just missed out on a medal taking fourth place.
