A 73-year-old woman was left with a dislocated shoulder after being mugged for her pension.
The victim had picked up the payment, and another for her friend, from the Gordon Terrace Post Office in Saltaire, when the robber pounced.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack in George Street between 4.15pm and 4.30pm last Tuesday.
A Keighley police spokesman said: "She was approached from behind by a man who grabbed her handbag and in the tussle she fell to the ground."
He added: "She dislocated her right shoulder and received grazing in the struggle and was taken to the BRI for treatment."
She was released to return home shortly afterwards. The bag contained cash and other personal items.
The suspect is described as a white male, 5ft 9ins to 5ft 11ins, medium build with short dark hair and dark clothing.
Anyone with information should contact Keighley Police on (01535) 617059.
