The cadets took the honours when Bradford competed in the national martial artschampionships at Lincoln University.
Damien Wise, 13, a 2kyu brown belt, came first in his age group for kumite (fighting), while 14-year-old Andrew Illingworth, a 6kyu orange belt, was runner-up in his section for kumite first tournament.
Martin Birchall, ten, a 5kyu green stripe, was second in his group for kata and then partnered Illingworth and 11-year-olds Martin Birchall and Laura Dunn for third place in the kata team event.
The senior grades gave some self defence demonstrations during the day as well as some displays of board or brick breaking.
The Bradford Kofukan club meets at Eccleshill WMC on Mondays (7-9pm) and on Wednesdays at Eccleshill Mechanics Institute (7-9pm) and further details about the club can be obtained from sensai Neil Howard (01274 582704).
