In 1825, the old Dispensary was opened in Bradford "for the use of the indigent poor".
In 1909, the Rev. A. H. Tollitt was inducted to the parish of Thornton.
In 1916, the recreation grounds adjoining Legrams Lane and St. Michael's Road were opened.

Broadway was never like it. But Richard Dunn, as hard as Yorkshire's millstone grit, wouldn't have wished for anything better than this. For they turned out in their hundreds to wave, cheer and toast boxing hero Richard when he was feted through the streets of Undecrcliffe. Rugged Richard, just back from his getting-to-know-you trip to New York with world champ Muhammad Ali, was overwhelmed by the reception.
