South Craven churchgoers did not have to walk as far to witness a breathtaking dawn this year on Easter Sunday.
Foot and mouth regulations meant the traditional trek to Farnhill Pinnacle had to be called off.
Instead, the worshippers gathered in Glusburn Park for the short service arranged by the South Craven Methodist Circuit.
Normally, about 100 people from several denominations walk to the Pinnacle, but this year around 70 were in attendance. The Rev Mollie Greenwood, one of the ministers involved, believes the venue change affected the number who joined in.
But she says those who did go along were treated to the nicest dawn in the service's 17-year history.
She says: "We were facing east, and just as the service was finishing the sun came up. The whole sky was yellow -- it was gorgeous."
The service was led by the Rev Nigel Ogley, a minister in the South Craven circuit, and featured hymns, dramas, prayers and Bible readings.
